Yoko Kitazaki

 

Yoko Kitazaki was born in Kyoto, Japan and learned oil painting from an early age. She loved the layered colors of “Water Lilies” by Monet and wanted to express such changing light in her own work. Having studied dyeing at the Kyoto City University of Arts, Monet's colors, and the flat design of dyeing still influence her expression today.

Currently Kitazaki is working on abstract acrylic paintings. She works mainly in Italy and has exhibited many works in small exhibitions organized by art groups and galleries, as well as in international exhibitions.

In 2022, 23, 24, she also participated in a few exhibitions in Paris and New York.

In Paris, she was selected and exhibited at Salon d'Automne there years. And she presented three works at SALON INTERNATIONAL D'ART CONTEMPORAIN at Carrousel du Louvre in autumn.

Other important exhibitions include participation in group shows at Galerie Mona Liza in Paris in 2022 and NoHo M55 Gallery in New York in 2022 and 2023, organized by the Japanese Contemporary Artist Team.

In 2021, her works were published in issues #5 and #6 of Art International Contemporary Magazine, edited by Salvatore Russo. In 2022, she was featured as an artist in the Contemporary Art Catalogue "ARTISTS OF TODAY AND TOMORROW 3_ Gangemi editore", a collaborative collection by Monica Ferrarini and Alice Di Piero.

Kitazaki considers art to be a universal language and has a message in her work. Duality is always rooted in the themes of her production which contains the message of “seeing the whole phenomenon from the viewpoint of the mind.” An example of duality is "Day and Night", a seamless natural phenomenon. She believes that we are one without boundaries that coexist on one planet. It's a very important message to convey to the people of the world. Therefore, she is exhibiting not only in Japan, but also overseas.　

As a feature of the work, she changes smooth paint with a special technique to create "movement, flow, luster, drips, lumps, and cracks" and so on. She uses a number of these different textures on a single screen, and she depicts the landscape deep inside her heart. She prays that those works will heal people's hearts and become a positive energy.
